Born in Luxembourg, Pit Brosius’ journey in the world of classical music has led him to share the stage with eminent soloists such as cellist Johannes Moser, the versatile pianist Hyung-ki Joo known for seamlessly blending humor with classical compositions; and virtuoso violinist Alena Baeva whom he recently recorded Beethoven’s Violin Concerto.
Next to his position as artistic & musical director of the Orchestre National des Jeunes du Luxembourg, Pit Brosius is a regular guest conductor of United Instruments of Lucilin & Kammerata Luxembourg and worked with the Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg and will have his debut with the Orchestre National de Metz in the upcoming season.
Adjacent to his education, Pit acquired valuable insights as an assistant conductor of David Reiland. Furthermore, he has assisted in productions of Cinq Mars (Oper Leipzig), La Bohème (Opera Zuid, Grand Théâtre Luxembourg), Die Zauberflöte (Opéra Saint-Etienne) and Iliade l’amour (B. Jolas, CNSMDP).
Audiences and critics alike commend Brosius for his passionate performances, marked by their emotional depth and energy. A fervent advocate for historically informed performance practice, he ensures authenticity in his interpretations. However, Brosius also demonstrates adaptability, frequently leading ensembles that focus on contemporary compositions.
Pit Brosius graduated from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and Conservatorium Maastricht in conducting and bassoon and is teaching Orchestral Conducting at the Conservatoire du Nord, Luxembourg.
